Where do I begin...? As I was sitting on my couch with my Bible and journal, I pondered on what I wanted to share with my reader's and suddenly the Lord came through and dropped the word "worth" in my heart. This is an area where I struggled for many years as a young girl through my teenage years and still battling today as a young adult. Worth is defined as the level at which someone or something deserves to be valued or rated. There are many passages on what God has to say about our worth. In Psalm 139:13-15 it states, "we are fearfully and wonderfully made." When I read this passage man the shivers I received down my back was insane, because I realized that God really took his time creating his children. Moving on to Jeremiah 29:11, one of my favorite verses that keeps me motivated states, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." You can not tell me that God does not love you after reading this verse. The lord literally desires to give you a beautiful life full of hope that's how much your worth. I mean God sent his only son down to earth to suffer beyond imaginable and die on the cross for our sins according to John 3:16. We are so worthy that Jesus Christ was willing to lay his life for us. I am not sure of many people that would die for you and me. We are so worthy that God guarantees us his inheritance, he identifies us as his own image and he claims us as his children (Ephesians 1:13-14). If you are not feeling worthy after this, then I don't know what to tell you, because I sure am filled with worthiness right now. The problem we have as human being is that we base our worth on what other people tell us about ourself. We believe the lies of the enemy too often. We forget that God is the rightful authority of our worth because he created us in his own image (Genesis 1:26-27) and Jesus Christ gave his own life, so that should tell us how valuable we really are. I used to be so guilty of this, because I cared so much about what people thought of me especially guys. I based my beauty and worth on what guys would tell me. When I didn't meet their standards which happened a lot I didn't feel good enough and became deeply sad. By doing this I lowered my self-esteem without even knowing how worthy I am as a woman of God. The thing I feel like we forget, especially us ladies is we base our worth on the comments and treatment we receive from guys, and we will always fall short if we do that, because no one is perfect. We have to come to the realization that the only person we are good enough for is God and we don't even need to try. Just by him creating us shows how meaningful we are to this world. When you discover your worth in God, you will NEVER need people's approval of you. Those who will see your worth will stick around. Just remember God will never forsake you. Thanks for reading!
